Frequently asked questions

What is Unified English Braille (UEB)?

UEB is the standard form of literary Braille for English-speaking countries. It provides consistency across UK, USA, Australia, and Canada. AutoDots uses UEB for general text translation.

Does AutoDots support maths and technical notation?

Yes. AutoDots converts mathematical expressions to Braille using UEB Technical and follows BANA Section 11 guidelines for tables.

What file formats can I upload?

PDF, DOCX, PNG, JPG, and other common document formats. AutoDots preserves structure and interprets visual content where possible so the resulting output is easier to use and easier to check.

How accurate is the translation?

AutoDots is designed to produce useful Braille-ready output, but quality still depends on the source document, layout complexity, and image quality. Public samples are labelled Draft, Reviewed, or Verified so you can see what has and has not been checked.

Can I use AutoDots for exams or official documents?

Yes, but formal or regulated output should still go through qualified review before release. AutoDots is intended to shorten production time, not replace final checking where accuracy is legally required.

What do Draft, Reviewed, and Verified mean?

Draft means workflow output with no team review. Reviewed means a team member checked the sample against the source and wrote down its limitations. Verified means it cleared the current publication checklist and is eligible for the public catalogue.

Is there a free tier?

Yes. Free includes 10 pages per month. Pro includes 100 pages per month plus priority queue access.
